After the hiccups we faced regarding manufacturing costs, it was decided that we would take a new approach.
A competition was suggested to draw attention to our product. The basic idea was to charge a fee of €0.50 to students to participate in the challenge. The competitor will use their hands in an attempt to untie a knot faster than our team - using our device. If they are successful, they will get their money back along with a lollipop :)
We also decided it was time to show the capabilities of our product by providing a service to the students in our school. They bring along their tangled items & pay us a small fee of €1 and we will do the job for them.... :D

The benefits of Knot a problem!!
Our aim is to create a small compact device which will hang on a keyring that can be used by all age groups. It will be a safe device and easy to use. The benefits are as follows:
1. The product will enable difficult knots in items such as shoe laces, jewellery and ear phone wires to be opened.
2. It will reduce the time and energy used by people when trying to open stubborn knots.
3. The product is mainly aimed at the elderly as they find it difficult to open tight knots.
4. It will reduce the stress and annoyance caused by tight knots.
5. And now if you do not have nails you are not at a disadvantage when it comes to opening knots - and if you do have nails, you won't break them!!
We feel that there is a large gap in the market for a product such as this one and by creating this device we will be filling this gap.

Today we had a very successful trip to the Moate Theatre in Naas, where we showed Orla our designs and listened to what other schools are doing for their mini companies. We're hoping to get a prototype soon and to get an actual product made from there. We're looking forward to getting our product made and out in the market.
